Atér

Atér’s aim is to create timeless, heirloom pieces thoughtfully designed and made to last a lifetime. By utilising the fibre grown on their farm in the hills of Otago, they are proud to transform it from fleece to fashion, resulting in stunning woollen garments destined for wardrobes around the country.

Atér’s primary ethos is to establish this all within the shores of New Zealand, utilising the skilled local artisans within the New Zealand textile and fashion industries. The aim to promote the country’s wool industry and support local manufacturers, proving that coarse wool has a place in New Zealand fashion.

Atér’s coats are designed with versatility in mind and will wrap you in comfort and style, keeping you cosy wherever you are - from our land to your lifetime.

Sustainability

By using their own annual wool clip and processing the fibre onshore with certified New Zealand manufacturers, ensures Atér garments are traceable and lowers carbon emissions. Atér’ uses offcuts by re using larger pieces and small scraps are utilised in a local worm farm (giving nutrients back to the soil).

Diversity

The 2025 Winter collection is aimed to be as inclusive as possible with several styles including XXS (6) to XL (16) sizes. As a new Atér have learnt it is imperative to recognise that everyone has different needs and preferences.

Atér will be collaborating with Atelier Royale in a Capsule Collection.
