COLLECTION: Music and Memory – Dementia Daze

If you have a head, you suit a hat.  It’s just a case of finding the right style for you. A little tilt to the side, or a dip over the eye, can be transformational to how you and the hat look. 

Willmott-Dalton Design produces bespoke hand-made millinery using traditional and timeless techniques.  

The theme of this collection is a personal one.  Inspired by a moment in time from 2016 while Roz was visiting her Mum in dementia care.  The home was having a Hollywood-themed party for the residents, complete with an Elvis impersonator and dancing.  That afternoon illustrated so vividly the power music has on the memory.

“The Town Hall dances were the place to go.”  It was the first sentence Roz’s Mum had said in at least six months and one Roz will always hold on to.  An iconic chapter of Dunedin history to be celebrated for more reasons than one.
