George Borrie

Muse

George’s brother William, lost his battle with depression in 2010 and inspired the Muse collection. William always had a downbeat sense of style which George distinctly remembered. He was a fan of denim skinny jeans, an untucked tee-shirt matched with a plaid flannel open shirt. William inspired of George’s sense of fashion he incorporated these aesthetics into this tribute collection. George drew upon the flamboyant drama of Jimi Hendrix, one of William’s favourite artists, to elevate the collection. Second hand fabrics and offcuts were used alongside WWII military accessories and instead of purchasing new buttons, the brothers’ grandmother’s buttons left in her sewing cabinet after she passed away were used in the collection.
