CALL FOR DESIGNERS

Entries for the iD Dunedin Fashion Show are now closed. Participating designers for 2023 will be announced soon.

iD Fashion welcomes Dunedin based designers (or those with a Dunedin connection) to submit images of a collection to be considered for participation in the iD Show 2023, to take place on Saturday 1 April at the Dunedin Railway Station (with a possible second show on Friday 31 March).  Designers must be producing directional, commercial and sustainable adult fashion.

Diversity and shape inclusivity in fashion will be celebrated for iD Dunedin 2023. To that end, we encourage applications from designers who can accommodate diverse models on the catwalk.

There will be a number of sections within the show with designers showcasing between 5 – 10 outfits. The selection panel consisting of industry fashion experts will determine which section best fits your collection. 

A Dunedin connection extends to designers who have studied in Dunedin, have lived here previously or have a retail store in the city.

For 2023 iD has received funding from the Russell Henderson Charitable Trust to support a Central Otago section in the iD Show. 

iD Dunedin is registered with the New Zealand Charities Commission and run by a voluntary Board.  All production costs such as sound, staging, lighting, models, hair and makeup are covered by iD Fashion’s fundraising efforts.  Designers will need to pay for their own travel and accommodation costs, if applicable. 

Submission Requirements

To be considered for selection in iD 2023 please include:

·       A collection statement
·       Collection images
·       A statement on how you incorporate sustainability in to your business
·       A statement on how you would like to show diversity at iD 2023

Entries close – Monday 17 October 2022
Designers announced – end of October
Tickets on sale - Tuesday 8 November
iD Dunedin Fashion Show – Saturday 1 April

Email your application as one pdf to victoria@sequelevents.co.nz by the end of business on Monday 17 October.   

Designers will be notified by the end of October as to the outcome of the selections.
