Drawing on China's retro slim silhouettes from the 1970s and 1980s and matching them with modern colours, the collection of garments is retro, yet modern and practical – perfect for the urban woman. Designs were mostly made with natural Australian wool, turned into fabric on a computerised German knitting machine. Additionally China's classic snakeskin bags, traditionally used to hold quilts, were reimagined as fabric embellishments. Design inspiration came from Shanghai’s process of demolition, and continual rebuilding of the city. These constant changes in the landscape often leave people confused and even indifferent to each other as the cope with loss and resettlement.
