VENUS IN TRANSIT 2117

Originally designed as an interactive stage performance, Venus 2117 is a romantic re-imagination of the astronomical phenomenon, the Transit of Venus, one of the rarest of predictable astronomical events. During this event, humankind was able to obtain the first realistic estimated distance between the earth and the sun. The merged inspiration of art and science sparked the ideas of the collection. The looks are inspired by unique planetary facts, and materialised as physical embodiments of the planets in our solar system, posing an artistic example of the astronomical phenomenon within the clothing medium, letting the audience form their own perspective of the rare event, which represents the planet Earth.
