Objet Trouve

The collection is created entirely from waste that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. Objet Trouve is a sustainable sculptural organic body of work that references the work of female surrealist poet and painter Kay Sage. Her architectural geometric imagery was painted against bleak empty still landscapes.

An experimental approach to draping was used allowing the drapery to ebb and flow on the stand. The resulting silhouettes subvert the materiality and elevate the design shifting it to sustainable avant garde.
The textile fabrications are presented out of their normal context which Surrealists believe might trigger a new psychological understanding in the mind of the observer with the garments seen as objects, neither male nor female.
